CCCJ Work Experience & Practicum:

The Work Experience (WE) programme applies to all learners pursuing a CCCJ Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree. On successful completion of the WE programme learners are awarded three (3) credits.

  • Work Experience - Course Outline : This is the official document from CCCJ that specifies all that learners must complete to be awarded the 3 credits for WE.
  • Social Work and Psychology Practicum Course Outline.
  • Work Experience & Practicum Evaluation Form: This form is to be completed by the supervisor at the work site and returned to the college supervisor. The mark or the grade obtained from this course is valued at 40% of the total mark or grade for work experience.
  • Placement- Option Registration Form: This document is used to develop the WE Database. The learners also use it to inform the Placement Office of their preferred companies, organisations or agencies that they want to serve for the 240 hours or 6 weeks of WE.

  •  Work Experience - Distance Supervision: WEDS describes how Moneague College will supervise leaners who are overseas for the WE programme. WEDS is approved by the CCCJ.
  • Work Log: Each student a log of hours worked and description of activities completed each day of placement.
  • [acc_item title="WE Schedule"]The WE programme is delivered in the 2nd and 4th years of all CCCJ Associate and Bachelor of Science Degrees. For the first semester, the Placement Office will conduct WE Preparation. During the 2nd semester, Placement Office finalizes the WE Placement of each learner, confirms the assigned college supervisors, hosts a job fair and coordinates one meeting of both learners and college supervisors.[/acc_item] [acc_item title="WE Preparation: "]Timetabled session where the Placement Office delivers lectures, workshops and seminars related to aspects of the WE Course Outline. The first batch should start the Monday after Labour Day (May) each year The second batch would start 6 weeks later (July).     All CCCJ students are required to complete thirty (30) hours of community service during the first year of the Associate Degree programmes.

    Students may select any agency, organization or institution that may not normally be able to pay for the service that the student may offer. We recommend public agencies such as libraries, schools, police stations.

    Documentation

    There are two documents that are required for this component of the CCCJ programmes to be considered fulfilled: the Community Service Card and the Personal Evaluation Sheet.
